Culture Shock (First Day in Arusha)

Entry #6

10:54pm
May 1st, 2017
Arusha, Tanzania
VETA College

Wow.

So today started with waking up in Dar Es Salaam and ended with us dancing our hearts out in a classroom at 10 at night.

We flew (this makes 5 flights in 4 days!) to Arusha which was about an hour.

Then we were driven from the airport to the VETA College where we were greeted with refreshing (yet spicy) drinks and a welcome dance from the women in their Room Division (hospitality) course.

We had some icebreakers, partook of some excellent meals, and were briefed on how the rest of the week would look for our documentation project.

And, of course, participated in our first practice for the dance we will perform on Friday with the other students (just found out today that we have to do that).

Quite an exhausting day, but incredibly fun  and memorable. Tomorrow is our first real full day if work, and I am so excited to set up the camera and start rolling!
